“VeggieTime has been so well-received! We’re excited to give students a space where they can learn, grow, and connect with food in new ways.”

In-School Health & Wellness Program

The In-School Health & Wellness Program celebrates the power of youth to create healthier schools, families, and communities. By nurturing wellness, cultural exploration, and community engagement through food, this program inspires students to take the lead in building healthier futures for themselves and those around them.

Growing Confidence and Wellness

Students participate in interactive health and environmental activities that promote hands-on learning and leadership. Through our community gardens, cooking classes, and school-based markets, students:

  • Learn to grow and prepare nutritious meals.
  • Explore cultural traditions and recipes.
  • Advocate for healthier food choices within their communities.

By connecting wellness with creativity and cultural pride, students become leaders in promoting better health and environmental awareness.

Fresh Food, Strong Communities

A cornerstone of the program is our Produce PopUps!, seasonal events where youth, families, school staff, and community members gather to receive free fresh fruits and vegetables while participating in nutritional education and cultural exchanges. These events highlight the collective power of communities working together for positive change.

Measurable Growth and Impact

  • 85% of families report better access to fresh, healthy food.
  • 70% of students learn to cook healthy meals and identify nutritional information.
  • 100% of students complete a nutritional service-learning project.
  • 70% of students show increased confidence, leadership, and healthy decision-making skills.
